Troy, NY --Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced today that Justin Franklin, 44, of Troy, pled guilty to one count of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree after he was found in possession of a loaded firearm during a routine traffic stop back in July.
“A routine traffic stop took another illegal gun off our streets,” said District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly.
Franklin is due back in court on April 24. He will be sentenced to 12 years to life in state prison as a result of his persistent violent felony offender status.
Assistant District Attorney Spencer Lane prosecuted Franklin in Rensselaer County Court.
