FORMER BERLIN TEACHER SENTENCED

Troy, NY -- Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced today that Justin Covell, 32, of Cropseyville, was sentenced in Rensselaer County Court.  Covell pled guilty to the charge of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a Class E Felony.  

Covell was formerly employed as a teacher in the Berlin Central School District.  He received ten years’ probation and has been ordered to register as a sex offender.   Assistant District Attorney Antonia Lane prosecuted the case for the People.
