Troy, NY -- Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced today that 38 year-old Zachary Jonas, of Brooklyn, was found guilty after a jury trial of one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree, a class A2 Felony and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a class B Felony.
Jonas was arrested by the New York State Police on October 11, 2022 and found to be in possession of more than 4 ounces of cocaine and over $14,000 in cash.
“I want to thank the New York State Police and the Bennington Police Department for their work to assemble all of the pertinent evidence needed in order to bring this case to verdict,” said
District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly.
Jonas will be sentenced on January 11, 2024. He faces a maximum sentence of 17 years in prison.
