Troy, NY --Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced today that Duncan Maclean, age 39, previously of Pittstown, was sentenced after his guilty plea to one count of Attempted Assault – 1st Degree, a Class C violent felony, in violations of Section 110 and 120.10 (1).
Maclean is accused of attacking his victim, with a hammer, in late 2017.
“This conviction is the direct result of the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office working together. The consistent and diligent efforts of Sergeant Jamie Panichi and Investigator Zach Sharpe uncovered the evidence we needed to prosecute this case,” said District Attorney Donnelly.
“I would like to thank the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office for their support and cooperation in bringing another case to a successful conclusion, and acknowledge the hard work and diligence of my investigators,” commented Sheriff Patrick Russo.
Maclean was sentenced to 8 ½ years in state prison with 5 years post release supervision for his role in the attack. Chief Assistant District Attorney Matthew Hauf prosecuted the case.
