Troy, NY -- Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced that Qon Pringle, 27, of Troy, was sentenced today to 14 years in state prison with 5 years post release supervision from his trial conviction for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Violent Felony.
The conviction arises from a Parole GIVE (Gun Involved Violence Elimination) detail in January 2024, after parole conducted a search of Pringle’s residence recovering a loaded 9mm pistol. It was Pringle’s 5th felony conviction in the past ten years.
“The success in the case could not have happened without the work of the NYS Parole Division of DOCCS as well as the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Department,” said District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly.
This is Pringle’s 3rd felony conviction for possessing a loaded firearm. He is a known influencer of gun violence in the community and a known associate of the Troy YGz gang.
Assistant District Attorney Spencer Lane prosecuted Pringle in Rensselaer County Court.
