Troy, NY -- Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced today that Qon Pringle, 27, of Troy was found guilty of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd after a jury trial.
In January 2024, during a GIVE (Gun Involved Violence Elimination) detail, Pringle was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. The City of Troy Police Department, the District Attorney’s Office and Rensselaer County Probation all collaborate on the GIVE grant. The grant is awarded annually to select cities throughout New York State.
“We appreciate the opportunity to engage in this team effort to remove illegal guns from the streets,” said District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly. “We are grateful to our law enforcement partners as well as to the jurors who gave careful consideration to the evidence in this case.”
Pringle will be sentenced on February 28th and can be sentenced, in the discretion of the court, as a persistent felony offender facing as much 25 years to life in state prison.
Assistant District Attorney Spencer Lane prosecuted Pringle in Rensselaer County Court.
