Troy, NY -- Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced that Jatae Gourrier-Lewis (aka “Tay Gunz”), 22, of Troy, was sentenced today after pleading guilty in September to Manslaughter in the 1st, a Class B Violent Felony.
Gourierr-Lewis admitted to the shooting death of his brother Jaylin Gourrier-Lewis, 16, of Troy on February 9, 2022. Gourierr –Lewis was sentenced to prison for 20 years determinate and 5 years post release supervision.
“Jatae Gourrier-Lewis has been held accountable in the death of his 16 year old brother. This is a tragic case for the family and for the community,” said District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly.
Assistant District Attorney Cheryl Botts prosecuted the case.
