MAN INDICTED AND ARRAIGNED AFTER ROBBERY AND ASSAULT OF OWNER OF JIMMY’S LUNCHEONETTE
TROY, NY- District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced today that Shamaiah Davis, 40, from Albany, NY was arraigned before the Honorable Debra J. Young on a seven-count indictment charging varying degrees of Assault and Robbery. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the Rensselaer County Jail.
On May 12, 2020, the defendant allegedly entered Jimmy’s Luncheonette, located at 84 Congress Street in the City of Troy and assaulted and robbed an employee during an altercation at the restaurant. The employee sustained several injuries as a result of the defendant allegedly striking her with a flashlight in the head and body in order to steal property. The defendant was located and ultimately arrested by members of the Troy Police Department on May 15, 2020 after an investigation was conducted.
