Second Testing Site for County Starts Friday: A second COVID-19 testing site for Rensselaer County residents starts on Friday at Hudson Valley Community College with partners IMA Group and Lab Corp, County Executive Steve McLaughlin announced
The first two days of the testing are designated for health care workers and first responders who are symptomatic. The following four days of the testing are open to county residents. All tests are by appointment only.
“We are excited to be able to partner with a second organization to offer needed COVID-19 testing to our residents. Testing helps ensure treatment for those in need, and helps establish a roadmap for a return to normal life,” said McLaughlin.
“We are very proud to be able to offer diagnostic testing for our health care workers and first responders the first two days of the six scheduled days of testing,” added McLaughlin.
The testing site by IMA Group with Lab Corp starts Friday, May 8 and runs 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. at the community college in Troy. The test site will also be in operation the following week, from Monday through Friday, also at Hudson Valley, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Residents seeking to be tested are asked to bring a driver’s license and an insurance card. Health care workers and first responders are asked to also bring a service identification card.
Those who are being tested at the IMA Group and Lab Corp site through South Road off Vandenburgh Avenue and then follow signs.
The county is also partnering with Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center to offer testing this week. Testing resumes Thursday at the Rensselaer City Hall, 62 Washington Street, Rensselaer from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday at Whitney Young Health Center, 802 Second Avenue, Troy, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, May 8.
