Second Week of Testing Underway: A second week of testing for COVID-19 is now underway in Rensselaer County, County Executive Steve McLaughlin announced
The county has partnered with The IMA Group and Lab Corp to operate a testing facility at Hudson Valley Community College. The test facility will be open this week Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The testing follows several testing sessions in the county by The IMA Group and Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center.
“We are looking forward to continuing expanded testing in our county to help get treatment for those in need and begin mapping a route back to normal life,” said McLaughlin.
Approximately 175 residents were tested last week, and the county is looking forward to more residents utilizing the diagnostic testing.
The county and McLaughlin worked for weeks to bring testing to the county. All state legislative representatives of the county, every county lawmaker and every mayor and supervisor of every municipality signed on to letters supporting the testing.
“Our first week of testing was successful and we appreciate our partners supporting our efforts to get testing here,” said McLaughlin.
To access the The IMA Group testing facility, take the south road entrance at Hudson Valley Community College and follow signs that direct you to the site.
