Update to Voters on Changes to Election Calendar

The COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak has caused some changes and disruptions to the state’s election calendar.

The changes include rescheduling the April 28 Democratic presidential primary to June 23. June 23 is the same date as state and local primaries.

Voters may have recently received a postcard in the mail from the Board of Elections stating the presidential primary is April 28. Please note, the postcards were printed and mailed before the Governor’s recent executive order moving the primary from April to June. Again, the correct date for the primary is June 23.

Anyone who has mailed in an absentee ballot for the presidential primary is advised that those ballots will be held b the BOE and counted for the June 23 primary. Anyone seeking an absentee ballot application is reminded that applications can be downloaded from the BOE website at

The county Board of Elections is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with reduced staffing. The BOE can be contacted by phone at 518-270-2990. If no one is able to pick up, please leave a message and it will be returned.
