Rensselaer County Emergency Services Memorial Ceremony to Be Held Sunday
The annual Rensselaer County Emergency Services Memorial Ceremony will be held Sunday, October 3rd, at 3 p.m. in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center at Hudson Valley Community College, County Executive Steve McLaughlin and Director of Public Safety Jay Wilson announced today.
The Memorial Ceremony will recognize 94 residents and supporters in the emergency services community who passed away in previous months. Those recognized include fire, police, ambulance and public service representatives.
Among those to be recognized on Sunday include former State Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno, a great friend to emergency services in the county.
“This is one of the most important events held in Rensselaer County, as it recognizes literally thousands of years of combined service. We owe these brave men and women a great debt that we can never repay,” said McLaughlin.
The ceremony will be both in-person and virtual. To watch a live stream, visit the county website at www.rensco.com or the Facebook page of the Rensselaer County 911 at @RCNY911.
