Troy, NY --Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced today that after a jury trial, Kyle Hutchinson, 23, of Schenectady was found guilty of Murder in the 2nd degree PL 125.25 (3) and Burglary in the 1st degree PL 140.30(1).
Hutchinson is one of three individuals charged in connection with the death of 19 year old Nathaniel Miller of Pittstown on June 9, 2021. Carlo Lewis will be tried at later date. Devin Van Patten pled guilty in his role and will receive 20 years in state prison.
“I want to thank the New York State Police BCI and Major Crimes, the NYSP Forensic Identification Unit and the NYSP Forensic Investigation Center who worked tirelessly to assemble all of the pertinent evidence needed in order to bring this case to prosecution,” said Chief Assistant District Attorney Matt Hauf, who prosecuted Hutchinson.
Hutchinson will be sentenced on September 27 in front of the Hon. Jennifer Sober where he will face a maximum sentence of 25 years to life.
