Troy, NY –Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced that Zymeir Walton, age 20, of Albany, was arraigned today on a six count indictment in Rensselaer County court. Walton is charged with:
One count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class B Violent Felony – PL 110.00/125.25(1)
One count of Assault in the First Degree, a Class B Violent Felony – PL 120.10(1)
One count of Robbery in the First Degree, a Class B Violent Felony – PL 160.15(1)
One count of Robbery in the First Degree, a Class B Violent Felony – PL 160.15(3)
One count of Robbery in the First Degree, a Class B Violent Felony – PL 160.15 (1)
One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor – PL 265.01(2)
Walton was arrested by the Troy Police Department on November 3, in connection with the investigation into the stabbing of a female student in the parking lot of Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC).
“The suspect and the victim are HVCC students and were known to each other,” said District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly. “The victim was followed to her car by Walton. He is accused of entering her vehicle, stabbed her multiple times and pushing her out of the car before driving off in her car.”
Walton has been remanded to Rensselaer County jail.
