Troy, NY --Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced that James “Finny” Smith, Jr., 50, of Troy pled guilty today to two Rensselaer County indictments.
Smith pled to Assault in the 2nd degree, a Class D violent Felony for his role in an assault on a woman in Troy in June. Additionally Smith pled to Burglary in the 1st degree, a Class B Felony for his role in the same incident.
Smith will receive a sentence of 12½ years with 5 years post when he is sentenced on January 5.
Assistant District Attorneys Cheryl Botts and Antonia Edwards prosecuted Smith.
Troy, NY --Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced that after a week-long jury, Shelton McCoy, 25, formerly of Troy was found guilty of one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree for possessing over one-half ounce of cocaine. A Class B Felony, McCoy is facing up to 12 years when sentenced on December 9th.
Assistant District Attorney Spencer Lane prosecuted McCoy.
