Poll Inspectors

You are eligible to serve as a Poll Inspector if you are registered voter in Rensselaer County.

Rate of Pay

•         Working the Primary or General Election: $200

o    Additional $20 for Chairperson

•         Attending the Inspector Training Class: $25

•         Working during Early Voting: $110

Applying

You have several ways to apply to become a Poll Inspector:

• Calling our office at 518-270-2990
• Emailing the Board of Elections with a statement that you would like to become a poll inspector; you must include your phone number and email address
• Online via the Become a Pollworker Form

Please note: applying does not guarantee you will be hired as a poll inspector. Your name will be added to our list of potential poll inspectors. You will be contacted only if you will be needed and then will be provided with signup information for inspector classes.
