Public Health Department

The Rensselaer County Public Health Department is where you can access a wealth of health-related information, locate health facilities, learn about disease control, get food inspection information, apply for birth certificates, get information about community and children's services programs and much more! The Public Health Department includes six main Divisions consisting of Administration, Children with Special Needs, Environmental Health, Laboratory, Medical Examiner and Nursing.

Public Health works closely with other county agencies; including the County Clerk, District Attorney's Office, Public Safety Department and Sheriff's Department and cooperates with State and National agencies to ensure the health and well-being of the county's residents and guests.
