Social Services The Department of Social Services offers a wide range of services; Adult Services, Public Assistance, Food Stamps, Medicaid and the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). Also available is assistance in pursuing Child Support and Home Health Aide Services for elderly and disabled Medicaid recipients. The department provides casework services such as Child Protective, Foster Care, Adoption and Day Care. There are also services for young parents through the Healthy Kids Program at Samaritan Hospital and the Teenage Opportunity Program at the Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO).

CPSC works to save lives and keep families safe by reducing the risk of injuries and deaths associated with consumer products. We do this by; Developing voluntary standards with industry Issuing and enforcing mandatory standards or banning consumer products if no feasible standard would adequately protect the public.
