Rensselaer County District Attorney Joel E. Abelove announced that Charles D. Tremblay, age 30, of Troy, NY, was convicted by a jury of one (1) count of Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC over .08%, and one (1) count of Common Law Driving While Intoxicated, both misdemeanors.

On April 24, 2016, the defendant was pulled over for a traffic violation on Main Street in the Town of Schodack. When stopped by members of the Schodack Police Department, Tremblay failed several field sobriety tests, and had a blood alcohol content of .11%.

As a result of the convictions, the defendant faces up to one (1) year in Rensselaer County Jail. The defendant will be sentenced on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Schodack Town Court.

Abelove said, “Drunk drivers continue to place the public at risk. Through the good work of the Schodack Police and the jury’s verdict, this defendant has been held accountable.”
