From a humble beginning in 1964, the Troy Turkey Trot has grown into one of the largest road races in the Capital District area. Spanning 40 years the "trot" is the oldest race in our area and one of the oldest races in the United States. Last year runners from 24 states participated along with a handful from other countries. In fact, last year for the sixth consecutive year in a row new participation records were set with a total of 3,456 entries in the four holiday events.

Again this year to make the registration process more convenient and runner friendly, participants have the option to register online at www.active.com.

We invite everyone to come to historic Troy on this our 40th anniversary to begin your Thanksgiving holiday with us. Over these many years both veteran runners and newcomers alike agree that there is no better way to celebrate the health, happiness and good fortune of family and friends than with a brisk walk, jog or run in Troy's 40th Annual Turkey Trot.
