Troy- Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen M. Jimino praised the staff of the Van Rensselaer Manor for their contribution toward the County owned and operated home once again receiving nationwide recognition for the quality of care and operation of the 362 bed facility.  

Again this year the Manor received the highest ranking possible, a 5 star facility, by US News and World Report.  According to the publication the ranking “relies on data from Nursing Home Compare, a consumer web site run by the federal centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  CMS sets and enforces standards for all nursing homes…The data for Nursing Home Compare come from regular health inspections carried out by state agencies and from the homes themselves.” 

“Maintaining this 5 Star ranking is proof positive of the outstanding effort put forth by the leadership and staff of the Van Rensselaer Manor.  I want to commend them on a job well done that ensures the well being of our most frail elderly who deserve that high level of care,” said Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen M. Jimino.
